5 Stars = A perfect film. This rating is reserved for a film that not only executes every aspect of the film production process perfectly (acting, writing, cinematography, etc) but also breaks new ground and pushes the boundaries of what has been seen before.
4 Stars = A film that executes every aspect of the film production process perfectly and is exactly the film it sets out to be but does not necessarily break new ground.
3 Stars = A solid film, a decent film but nothing outstanding.
2 Stars = A film that really leaves something to be desired but could be worse.
1 Star = An overall failed film but one that has a least a basic level of competency to keep it from being utterly worthless.
No Stars = A absolute cinematic abomination.
